Putin: Russia plans to station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus

President Vladimir Putin mentioned Saturday that Russia plans to station tactical nuclear weapons in neighboring Belarus.

A particular storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus is to be constructed and put in by the start of July, Putin informed state broadcaster Russia 1.

Putin mentioned Russia had helped Belarus convert 10 plane to make them able to carrying tactical nuclear warheads and would begin coaching pilots to fly the re-configured planes early subsequent month. 

Putin mentioned that the location of nuclear weapons in Belarus is not going to violate nuclear non-proliferation accords.
